European Championships 2009
The FEI European Jumping & Dressage Championships, 25th-30th August 2009, will be the most important equestrian event to be held in the UK this decade. It is the first time that the European Jumping Championships and the European Dressage Championships have ever been held at the same venue. The private grounds of Windsor Castle are being developed into a fantastic equestrian competition venue, which will have two all-weather surfaces and expect to see over 80,000 visitors over the course of the 6 days of competition.

The 2008 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2008 is going to take place in Austria and Switzerland, from 7 June to 29 June 2008. European Championship comes after every four years. It is the second successful joint proposal in the competition's history, following the UEFA Euro 2000 hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands. The 2012 competition in Poland and Ukraine is scheduled to become the third jointly-hosted tournament.

Austria and Switzerland automatically qualified as hosts; the remaining 14 teams have been determined through qualifying matches which started in August 2006. Austria and Poland will be making their first appearance in the tournament. The winner of Euro 2008 will represent UEFA at the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa.
